Alida Taghiyeva

Alida brings extensive experience in research, advisory, and capacity-building, with a focus on advancing women’s entrepreneurship and financial and digital inclusion. She has led regional and country-level programs for organisations such as UN ESCAP, FAO, and ITU, driving inclusive economic development across Asia-Pacific, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East. Prior to joining Value for Women, Alida served as Senior Manager for Gender Insights and Market Engagement at GSMA. In this role, she delivered market research with 8,000 micro-entrepreneurs in 10 countries and supported digital financial service providers to design and implement solutions that meet the needs of women micro-entrepreneurs.

Alida holds a Master's degree in Development Studies from the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). She is passionate about leveraging data-driven insights and strategic partnerships to create scalable and commercially sustainable solutions for equitable growth.
