Kriti Barman
As a Gender & Business Expert, Kriti brings over 7 years of experience in research, consulting, and project implementation in the development sector; with a focus on gender inclusivity and policy research.
Prior to her work at Value for Women, she has assisted philanthropic and business responsibility efforts in gender diversity and inclusivity through research, advisory, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and learning initiatives in the field of women’s economic empowerment and gender-smart portfolio design. She has domain expertise in gender intentional education, labor policy, livelihoods, and cooperative federation. Her research work includes formative studies on women’s agency and access to resources in the cotton value chain and on the impact of digital assets on women in informal service industries.
Previously, Kriti served as a senior consultant at the Sattva Consulting, working with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to develop a gender-lensed grant-making strategy for the Policy Advocacy and Communications (PAC) team. She also conducted action research to develop recommendation briefs on gender-smart procurement by the private sector and did gender analysis of social protection policies for one state of India for BMGF’s internal learning.
Kriti is a graduate in Economics from Delhi University and holds a Master’s in Development Studies from Ambedkar University, with a focus on labour studies.
