Otala Nakiranda

Otala works on a wide range of projects to support small and medium enterprises, impact investors, incubators, accelerators, development finance institutions and other clients in implementing gender-forward strategies through technical assistance. Specifically, she provides advisory support to clients through administering gender diagnostics and designing tailored strategies to support their unique needs.

Otala brings almost a decade of experience in finance – impact investment, strategy development and capital raising for early-stage enterprises in East Africa. She is passionate about access to finance for women entrepreneurs, has demonstrated leadership skills in managing and working with multicultural, multinational teams, and works at ease across organizational and industry hierarchies.

Previously, Otala was an investment associate with Gray Matters Capital’s coLABS and an investment advisory consultant with SHONA.

She holds a master’s degree in Entrepreneurial Financing from Spain’s Universitat Internacional de Catalunya and a bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from Kyambogo University, Uganda.
